Vote for New Profit at SXSW EDU 2027
New Profit is excited about the opportunity to reunite with our community in Austin next March. This year, we’ve submitted two dynamic session proposals to SXSW EDU’s PanelPicker, and your vote can help bring them to life.
Your support is key to getting these conversations on the official agenda. To vote, click the links below and select the heart icon next to the title of the session. (You’ll need to create a quick login, but it only takes a minute.) Voting closes on August 23, 2026!
Thank you for helping shape another meaningful year at SXSW EDU!
Leading for the Long Arc (SXSW EDU Panel)
Leaders are expected to deliver results in the short term while holding a vision for change that may take years to fully realize. This session explores how long-term, flexible funding reshapes decision-making inside organizations working across education, democracy, and economic mobility. Panelists will share what this looks like behind the scenes—including how leaders navigate competing priorities, evaluate risk, and determine what to build, sustain, adapt, or phase out over time.

Beyond Proximity: Social Entrepreneur & Funder Mixer (SXSW EDU Meet Up)
Funders, social entrepreneurs, and community leaders are invited to join this meetup to explore philanthropy’s role in advancing long-term systems change in an era of uncertainty. Together, participants will connect across sectors, share lessons from the field, and navigate the tension between immediate needs and long-term transformation. Explore what it means to move from proximity as a principle to proximity as practice, and how stronger relationships and aligned resources can support lasting impact.
