Catalyze: Mental Health Equity
Our cohort-based approach to accelerating the growth of organizations building a healthier America.
Addressing the factors that create health inequities across generations.
Good mental and behavioral health is necessary for all people to live a life of their choosing. Yet more than 1 in 5 adults in the United States experience mental illness each year. Social, environmental, and economic conditions in the United States have driven even greater health inequities for historically overlooked and under-resourced communities.
Our Mental Health Equity Catalyze Cohort supports early-stage organizations addressing the upstream factors that affect mental and behavioral health, including access to basic needs, mental health literacy, access to culturally competent mental health services, social connection, and more.
Our goal is to build a healthier America by enabling all people to participate fully in our democratic, economic, and educational systems.
“ I wish more people knew that if we don’t center educators of color’s mental health, we cannot address the issues of educational inequity that exist in the system. Wenimo Okoya of Healing Schools Project, a Mental Health Equity alumni organization
We support organizations that drive improved health outcomes by:
- Addressing the social drivers of mental and behavioral health, including but not limited to healthy food, jobs, housing, and social connection.
- Driving innovation and cultural humility in mental and behavioral health care and services.
