Dameon-Alexander

Dr. Alexander is a Partner and Senior Philanthropic Advisor for New Profit. He has a unique blend of skills in strategic planning, organizational development, research, education, entrepreneurship, and business development. He has a diversity of experiences ranging from television broadcasting for major networks such as NBC and ABC News, film production for Procter & Gamble, senior management in universities, and lead roles in venture philanthropy.

His journey in community and social impact started with his Doctoral work at the University of Cambridge where his research involved a multi-disciplinary experiment bridging education, economics, and corporate social responsibility. As a by-product of his research, he started a volunteer effort working with educational institutions in the United Kingdom which emerged into a profitable consulting business.

He has experience in domestic and in African, Asian, and Caribbean regions. He led partnership building and venture philanthropy for Stand Together, a Koch Industries network of approximately 700+ business leaders inclusive of 200 family offices and 180+ nonprofit organizations. His work involved donor advising, grant-making, portfolio management, measurement, leadership coaching, and building high-profile collaborations across entertainment, professional sports, and business.

He then transitioned into a Principal role with C Squared, an investment fund founded by a Denver-based family office, comprised of innovative technology and private equity solutions. He developed their
philanthropic vision while working to close seven and eight-figure investments and bridging partnerships with hedge funds, large investment banks, and small businesses.

His current entrepreneurial venture is called Imprint Fund, a nonprofit convening group built upon ideas that emerged from his own Doctoral work. The Imprint is an ecosystem of diverse influencers in professional sports, business, and nonprofits seeking to revolutionize the way society engages education and economy. One of his unique interests is bridging digital and real world communities in the emerging crypto-philanthropy industry.

He sits on the board of The New Freedom Theatre of Philadelphia as he seeks to revitalize one of the oldest black performing arts venues in America. His life goal is to build partnerships in collaboration with businesses, non-profits, philanthropists, investors, and family offices, connecting and convening them to create generational social and economic advancement opportunities that benefit not only business interests but cultural communities that are traditionally marginalized and under-leveraged.

As an academic, Dr. Alexander is an economic sociologist with deep experience and interest in education. He has taught a variety of courses as an instructor and professor at Cambridge, Georgetown, and George Washington University. He is the author of the book The Imprint of Business Norms on American Education, a research textbook centered on the nexus between multinational business and educational institutions. He is a husband and a father of two budding student-athletes.
