Wendy Lee Haines

Wendy is a Deal Partner on the Portfolio Investment team and provides strategic advising and capacity-building support to a selection of New Profit’s Build Investments.

Prior to joining New Profit, Wendy was the Head of Strategic Programs on the Community Impact & Corporate Responsibility team at UBS, a global financial services company. In that role, she oversaw the firm’s philanthropic programs in the Americas, which focused on creating a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem for underrepresented founders and increasing college and career success for underrepresented students.

Before that, Wendy spent over a decade working to advance educational equity in leadership roles across the public and nonprofit sectors, including at two former New Profit portfolio organizations. She was a founding team member at New Classrooms, an education technology nonprofit, where she built the organization’s growth infrastructure and she was the Executive Director of Citizen Schools NY, which provided apprenticeship-based learning programs for middle school students. Wendy also raised philanthropic capital for New York City public schools and began her career at American Express. She has a master’s degree in public administration from New York University and a bachelor’s from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Wendy lives in New York City with her husband and two energetic young boys. When not working or parenting, she finds spare moments to play tennis, explore new recipes to cook, or plot her next vacation.
