After beginning her career as a consultant in the telecom industry, Kim quickly realized she needed to work somewhere with a social mission. This revelation led her to work as a project coordinator at Harvard School of Public Health, and then as a nonprofit strategy consultant at Root Cause. While at Root Cause, she supported clients in healthcare, policy advocacy, and education on a range of projects including strategic planning, performance measurement, and stakeholder engagement. Through this work, Kim developed a specific interest in education, which she further cultivated as an Education Pioneers Graduate School Fellow at the District of Columbia Public Schools, where she helped to refine the district’s approach to assessing teacher effectiveness. Kim believes increasing equity for all students is the single most important social issue today. She holds a BA in cognitive science from Brown University and an MBA from Yale School of Management.
A lifelong New Englander, Kim currently lives in Medford, MA with her husband.
