Dedicated Partner

Portfolio

As a Dedicated Partner on the Portfolio Investing team, Jorge provides advising and coaching social entrepreneurs as their organizations grow.

Jorge manages an investment portfolio, partnering closely with each organization’s chief executive and board over multi-year engagements. He serves as a strategic advisor, investor steward, leadership coach, and board member, helping social entrepreneurs achieve their impact vision while strengthening the organizational capacity to sustain it.

Jorge began his career in capital markets, underwriting bonds for essential infrastructure, including utilities and transportation. That work shaped a lasting interest in who gets access to capital and who decides how it is used. He spent more than a decade at UpTogether (formerly the Family Independence Initiative), most recently as Executive Vice President. During his tenure, UpTogether grew from a local nonprofit into a national organization. He led the development of its technology platform and expanded partnerships with philanthropy and government, deploying direct cash to households nationwide.

He later served as Senior Director at Arrow Impact, where he helped the foundation build its grantmaking strategy, systems, and U.S. economic mobility portfolio. Jorge’s work has centered on unlocking capital and resources for underinvested communities and the public good.

He holds a Master of International Affairs from UC San Diego’s School of Global Policy and Strategy and a BA from Amherst College.

Jorge lives in the Bay Area, where he enjoys cooking for friends, dancing to salsa, surfing, and coaching youth soccer.
