Alena Madar

As a data associate, Alena conducts measurement work with the Portfolio Investing Team, particularly focused on supporting Catalyze Cohorts’ data needs, running Build semi-annual reporting cycles, and generally helping the team refine and improve their measurement tools and processes.

Before working at New Profit, Alena worked at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as a Research Assistant for the Institute of Global Tobacco Control. In this role, she helped public health researchers advance tobacco control policies and best practices in low- and middle-income countries through research, monitoring, and capacity-building activities. She received her BS in Computational Biological Sciences from Cornell University in 2021, along with a minor in Global & Public Health. In 2019, Alena had the privilege of working with social business units comprised of indigenous women in rural India which ignited her passion for socially conscious entrepreneurial work.
