is a national nonprofit that combines lived expertise with data, technology, and policy to help transform the nation’s child welfare system into one centered on child and family well-being.
Year Formally Launched: 2017
Think of Us (TOU) advances change in the child welfare system by partnering with young people, families, community leaders, and government agencies. The organization brings lived expertise, research, data, and policy knowledge together to strengthen families, reduce unnecessary system involvement, and improve outcomes for children and youth.
TOU works across the child welfare ecosystem to identify where systems fall short and co-create practical, scalable solutions. By helping leaders better understand the realities families face, the organization supports more effective, equitable, and responsive policies and practices.
Founded by former foster youth in 2015 and formally launched in 2017, TOU has grown into a national leader in child welfare reform, grounded in the belief that those closest to the challenges should help shape the solutions.
