The F.I.N.D. Design’s mission is to mitigate the effects of systemic and personal trauma on Black girls, and other girls of color ages 11-17, by providing safe spaces for healing, long-term mentorships, and programming that transform their mental health and overall well-being.
Year Founded: 2014
The F.I.N.D. Design exists to provide gender-based programming that empowers, elevates, and educates girls to be emotionally strong and resilient.
The F.I.N.D. Design organization services middle and high school girls of color and their families through culturally relevant African and African American-centric models that foster sensitivity and understanding of girls of color’s unique needs.
The F.I.N.D. Design’s F.L.Y. (Forever Loving Yourself) Girl program empowers middle and high school girls of color by using gender-specific, culturally relevant, strength-based programming designed to provide them with a sense of ethnic pride and “connectedness”. Through impactful services that support ethnic identity, relationship building, community and school engagement, and self-advocacy, girls learn how to demonstrate higher-level thinking while pulling from their internal strength and powers to become high achievers in the schools and communities.
Their “I’M BOSSY” Summer Program supports the economic empowerment and mental health and wellbeing of black girls and other girls of color through entrepreneurship and leadership education. This holistic program creates fun ways to learn how to earn money, set tangible goals, & develop entrepreneurship skills.
