Economic Mobility

Resilient Coders trains exceptional underrepresented Black and Brown talent for high-growth careers in software engineering. Resilient Coders aims to solve the problem of systemic inequities in access to technology education and careers for young adults from low-income communities.

Year Founded: 2014

Resilient Coders aims to dismantle barriers into tech careers for young adults, igniting a transformative wave within the industry where Black and Brown talent not only thrive but lead. Their vision is one of equal access to economic opportunity and mobility, where success knows no prejudice. Resilient Coders works toward this through a multi-pronged approach embodied in their four pillars: Free Education, Advocacy, Coalition Building, and Community Engagement.

Resilient Coders provides their students with wrap around services beyond the classroom, from child care assistance to emergency aid, to help them surmount barriers and focus fully on their learning and growth. Held twice yearly, their core Resilient Bootcamp is an 18-week, full-time immersive program teaching high-demand languages through full-stack application alongside critical professional skills. One of Resilient Coder’s key initiatives, Resilient Ascend, supports RC alumni at all career stages with advanced tech skills training (e.g. AI/machine learning), career navigation, and opportunities to build their own AI-powered learning platform as a springboard into the jobs of the future.
