Economic Mobility
Freedmen Heirs Foundation’s mission is to empower Black and underserved farmers to build generational wealth by expanding market access, technical assistance, and enhancing financial resilience.
Year Founded: 2020
Freedmen Heirs Foundation advances economic justice in agriculture by converting philanthropic and institutional resources into farmer-centered technical assistance, capital access, and market-building opportunities for historically underserved producers. Beyond individual support, the organization advocates for more equitable agricultural financing, disrupts exclusionary policies and narratives, and strengthens the ecosystem that shapes who can participate and thrive in agriculture. By centering farmers’ lived expertise and cultivating durable community and institutional partnerships, FHF helps repair generational harms and unlock long-term economic viability.
