Centro Unido Latino-Americano’s mission is to create secure spaces, establish cross-cultural partnerships, and promote social justice, health equity, and inclusive education opportunities for the Latinx community and beyond.

Year Founded: 2010

Centro Unido Latino Americano creates educational, economic, and recreational opportunities for the Latinx community in McDowell County, NC, bridging gaps in language access, food security, and healthcare while advancing social integration and justice.

Centro Unido Latino Americano’s resources are curated for everyone in the community while also focusing on bridging barrier gaps: language accessibility, food security, and accessible healthcare. Through its services, the organization aims to increase social integration, economic opportunities, and cultural justice.

Centro Unido Latino Americano opened its doors in 2010 and officially became a non-profit organization in 2011. The goal was to make accessible as many equitable and philanthropic resources to the Latino community as possible. Centro Unido Latino-Americano was previously part of our 2023 Mental Health Equity Catalyze Cohort.
