3rd Decade

Economic Mobility

3rd Decade’s mission is to change the financial future of young adults in and around their 3rd decade of life with free financial education, sustained mentoring, and a financial plan to help them achieve financial capability.

Year Founded: 2018

3rd Decade helps young adults build their financial futures by providing relevant financial education, personalized mentoring, financial workshops, resources, and a supportive community for young adults ages 18-40.

Their free two-year program combines expert-led classes on budgeting, credit, and investing with personalized mentorship from trained volunteers who provide ongoing support and accountability.

By meeting young adults during these critical decades of life with relevant education, one-on-one guidance, and a supportive community (fully available in Spanish), 3rd Decade helps them build healthy financial habits, begin planning for financial futures, and build knowledge that leads to confident financial choices, not just for them, but for generations to come.

3rd Decade was founded in Tucson, Arizona, in 2019, in recognition of the lack of opportunities young adults have to gain reliable financial knowledge and support. With a focus on low to moderate income levels, 3rd Decade fills the need for accessible, timely, and personalized financial education and guidance at no cost to those served. Today, 3rd Decade equitably serves hundreds of young adults across the United States, supports a robust network of volunteer Financial Mentors, partners with countless organizations and businesses to host financial literacy workshops, and creates healthy, secure financial futures.
