New Profit Announces Two New $1M Investments

We are excited to announce that New Profit has made new investments in two organizations led by breakthrough social entrepreneurs: Braven, led by Aimée Eubanks Davis (formerly of New Profit’s Women’s Accelerator); and Springboard Collaborative, led by Alejandro Gibes de Gac.

Braven: In partnership with universities and employers, Braven uses a scalable coaching and fellowship model backed by technology to bridge the education to employment gap for low-income and first-generation college students. Their mission is to empower promising, underrepresented young people with the skills, confidence, experiences, and networks necessary to transition from college to strong first jobs, which lead to meaningful careers and lives of impact.

Springboard Collaborative: Springboard Collaborative closes the literacy gap by closing the gap between home and School. The organization coaches teachers and families on how to nurture reading habits among pre-K to 3rd grade students in underserved communities so that they have the skills needed to access life opportunities.

Over the next four years, these organizations will each receive $1 million in unrestricted philanthropic funding. In addition, an experienced New Profit partner will join the organizations’ board of directors and serve as a trusted advisor to the social entrepreneur on leadership and board development, as well as strategic planning for growth and impact.
