Harvard Business Review Publishes Piece By New Profit CEO Vanessa Kirsch And Board Chair Jeff Walker

We are looking to fundamentally transform the way America educates its children, propels people towards social and financial stability, and creates healthy communities. Vanessa Kirsch, our founder and CEO, penned a letter to the New Profit community recently laying out how we are evolving our work to push even harder for systemic change:

Inherent in this sharpened focus is our evolving understanding of what it takes for a social entrepreneur to navigate the complexities of systems change. This week, Vanessa and New Profit’s Board Chairman, Jeff Walker, co-authored a piece in the Harvard Business Review with Jim Bildner of the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation on just this topic. In the piece, entitled “Why Social Ventures Need Systems Thinking”, they coin the term “systems entrepreneurs” to characterize our new thinking. A few of our favorite excerpts are below:
