Meet Jillian Juman. Jillian is a former dancer, the daughter of a 70’s love, and a Black woman dedicated to empowering black and brown students to thrive throughout her career and now as CEO of Envision Education. We met with Jillian for an intimate interview to get closer to her story. During our conversation, Jillian shared how her life journey led her from finding her voice through dance and movement to supporting teachers and students along their journey to find theirs.

I would say my leadership style is really about lifting others. I believe my role is to have conversations and make sure that I’m talking about how to lift everybody’s strength. That’s how I do most of my work. Jillian Juman

Envision Education is a network of schools located in the San Francisco Bay Area on a mission to transform students’ lives – especially first-generation college students – by preparing them for success in college, career, and life. Envision is set apart from other school networks by three key programmatic features: a Portfolio Defense assessment system, an instructional and cultural vision rooted in an anti-racist and pro-Black framework, and their commitment to helping schools across the country improve and grow in equity

As we close out we move toward the end of Women’s History month, we invite you to get closer to Jillian’s story and learn how she’s changing the narrative for students from marginalized communities across the country through her work with Envision Education.
