Future of Work Grand Challenge Chooses Jobcase as Outreach Platform
Boston, MA, October 29, 2020 —New Profit, the venture philanthropy organization, announced today that it has selected Jobcase as the outreach platform for its Future of Work Grand Challenge. Over the next 24 months, the aim of this competition is to rapidly prepare 25,000 displaced workers with the necessary skills for higher-wage jobs and provide capabilities for U.S. workforce investment boards to support other workers who may be displaced.
As a social media platform that serves more than 20 million members each month in its mission of empowering workers, Jobcase is particularly well-suited for this role. The organizers, various state workforce boards and the participating companies themselves will leverage the Jobcase platform for group communication and coordination, general promotion and analytic support.
“ We need an open-access partner platform that can reach displaced and unemployed workers and provide them with tools to connect and succeed. When you look at the overall working population, you can see that Jobcase has the platform, membership and community to connect with workers and deliver results for workforce boards across the country. Our workforce development professionals look for the right tools to help workers, especially those impacted by the pandemic. Jobcase is the ideal community platform to help us do that. Dr. Angela Jackson, A New Profit Parter and Lead of the Future of Work Grand Challenge
“Jobcase was built to empower and advocate for workers, and we can’t think of a better way than to help bring future-of-work solutions to life,” says Fred Goff, co-founder and CEO. “We are completely aligned with the goals of the Future of Work Grand Challenge and are proud to support New Profit, XPRIZE, MIT Solve, JFF, and workforce investment boards across the U.S. to create transformative upskilling programs and job opportunities for workers in this country.”
The Future of Work Grand Challenge, supported by a growing coalition of cross-sector funders including the Walmart Foundation and Strada Education Network, features two separate competitions – XPRIZE Rapid Reskilling and the MIT Solve Reimagining Pathways to Employment in the US Challenge – to surface and promote promising solutions for some of today’s biggest workforce issues. The broader objective is to create systemic change for over 12 million Americans in underserved communities by 2025. Winning solutions will be piloted and scaled by JFF through partnerships with a consortium of future-focused workforce boards in six key regions across the U.S. For more details visit this page.
