Terrill joined the Portfolio Investing team in 2022, serving as a Deal Partner focused on economic mobility and leading learning development for the second cohort of New Profit’s Postsecondary Innovation for Equity Initiative (PIE II).
Prior to joining New Profit, Terrill was Executive Director of Hoffberger Family Philanthropies, a Baltimore-based family foundation focused on economic mobility and children’s mental health. Under his leadership, Hoffberger introduced participatory grantmaking to increase racial equity and developed a portfolio funding 75% leaders of color. Before that, Terrill led the Montgomery County Collaboration Council for Children, Youth, and Families in Maryland, funding public/private partnerships to provide Out-of-School-Time (OST) and Opportunity Youth programs. At YES Prep Public Schools in Texas, he led OST programs, student recruitment, and parent engagement.
Earlier in his career, Terrill served as a management consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton and Deloitte Consulting, Chief of Staff to a Member of Congress from New York and Policy Director to a Member of Congress from Lowell, Massachusetts. He began his career as an Associate with the venture capital team at the law firm of Edwards & Angell, LLP in Boston.
Terrill earned his JD from Columbia University, M.Ed. from the Broad Center, and BA from Howard University with executive education at Harvard Kennedy School.
